Los Angeles, 28/02/2011 – Melissa Leo wins the Oscar® for best actress in a supporting role for “The Fighter” at the 83rd Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles.

Melissa Leo has won the first award presented Sunday at the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony, honoring the best films of 2010 (as determined by the U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences).

Leo won the Oscar® for Best Supporting Actress for The Fighter in Los Angeles.

Italian-American actress Melissa Leo has received the “Actors of the Year “ awards for her role in the feature film “The Fighter” the most prestigious recognition awarded every year during the Capri, Hollywood– International film Festival.
