"L.A. ITALIA" CELEBRATES THE DE SICA's DYNASTY". ON FEB. 16th SPECIAL SCREENINGS OF 1959 OSCAR WINNING MOVIE "BICYCLE THIEVES" BY VITTORIO DE SICA AND OF THE RECENT "TALK ABOUT ME" BY BRANDO DE SICA LOS ANGELES, 03/02/09 – On Monday 16th February, Hollywood will celebrate actor and director Christian De Sica and his son Brando during the 4th Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Fest taking place at the Mann Chinese 6 Theater, promoted in cooperation with CIM Group Retail, Eni, the presidency of Lazio Ragion and the Department for Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Campania Region. A special event to celebrate Christian’s new successful movie, the Christmas blockbuster “Natale a Rio”, and show the screening of “Talk about me”, Brando’s debut as director after his graduation at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, two years ago. The celebrations of the “De Sica’s Dynasty”, as reported by the media, will be inaugurated by Vittorio De Sica’s masterpiece “Bicycle Thieves” (Oscar-winning movie in 1949) which has been recently restored and digitalized by the Venice, Italy - Casino In Hollywood, Christian De Sica will meet again Pupi Avati, the director with whom he will work this year (33 years after the comedy “Bordella” showing a very young Christian in 1976) as the leading actor of “The First Son” together with Luca Zingaretti and Laura Morante, who will be his wife in the film. Not only will the 4th Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Fest organizes a 6-film retrospective devoted to Pupi Avati and pay a tribute to the legendary maestro Federico Fellini, along with Eni’s homage to Gillo Pontecorvo, Ferrara and the Taviani Brothers.
