THIS IS THE MESSAGE BY FRANCESCO RUTELLI, VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE ITALIAN COUNCIL OF MINISTERS AND MINISTER OF CULTURE, BEFORE THE START-UP OF THE 2ND LOS ANGELES, ITALIA FESTIVAL ROME, 15/02/07 - 2007 is a special year for Italian culture, which America celebrates with a series of extraordinary events and recognitions. I am thinking of the honorary Oscar that will be presented to Ennio Morricone, and the great success of his American concerts. The second edition of the Los Angeles, Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival is a prestigious appointment with many protagonists from the world of Italian show business. It an event that contributes to strengthening the ever growing cultural exchanges between our two countries. It is with great pleasure that I express my appreciation for the excellent work that has been carried out with passion and professionalism to organize the festival, which brings together important personalities from the United States and many representatives of the new generation of Italian actors and directors.
